Basiktas 2 - 1 Antalyaspor

So after taking in more of  Istanbul, trying some of the kebabs and seeing what the spice bazaar had to offer, we decided to go the Basiktas football match, as they were playing at home on saturday night and are 1 of the big teams in Istanbul.  The atmosphere was absolutely unbelievable, the ground was full 30 minutes before kick off and the fans were chanting their heads off - ive never been to a louder football match!
Left Istanbul yesterday and got an afternoon bus journey round to Canakkule, a nice port/seaside town, so going on a tour of Gallipoli today, a WWI landing & battle site very famous in Australian history.

arriving into Istanbul via train

Well after 3 days of travelling I reached Istanbul this morning

The train journey went reasonably well across europe, despite being quite tired now, after getting a eurostar to paris monday evening, i followed on overnight to munich, before a daytime train to budapest.  This left me a few hours to stock up on food and drink for another night train to belgrade, and finally the longest leg of all belgrade all the way through to istanbul.

So spent the afternoon here exploring around Istanbul, which including seeing the grand bazaar with endless amounts of aisles and shops and traders on show, and the great blue mosque. Going to enjoy the food and head out for a good meal tonight
