Marrakesh, Morocco

After touching down late in the evening I wasn't sure I'd find my hostel in the winding maze of central souqs (bazaar/markets) of central Marrakesh, many of the winding lanes looked a little like this:
Upon exploring the next day I head the good news that friday is couscous day, being that the locals cook it at the end of their week.  This dish had lamb, potatoes, eggplant, beans and other vegetables in, very tasty and a good find after getting slightly lost around the souqs.

 Walking north towards the Ville Nouvelle (new town) of Marrakesh I found some striking street art.  This was on my way to the Jardin Majorelle, a very picturesque gardens with plants from all over the global and a favorite place of Yves Saint Lauren who lived here.
Overlooking the main square of Jemma el-Fnaa was the mineret, which looked very quiet compared to busyness of the square below.
